Research Expertise: Measurement invariance in cross-cultural studies, multicultural counseling, career development, international counseling, substance abuse counseling, mind-body connection, family issues and risky behavior

Dr. Chen earned an Ed.D. in Counselor Education, with an emphasis in measurement and assessment, from University of Cincinnati. She also holds a M.S. in Counseling Psychology and a B.Ed. in Instructional Psychology and Counseling Education from National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan. She has published 6 peer-reviewed articles. Some of them are in top quartile journals (e.g., Evolutionary and Human Behavior IF: 3.69; Frontiers in Psychology IF: 2.869). In addition, she has over 20 research presentations at international, national, and regional conferences, including American Counseling Association (ACA), American Psychology Association (APA) and Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). Dr. Chen hope's to bring her cross-cultural perspectives and international counseling experiences to the research, teaching, and service at UNLV. She looks forward to contributing her research expertise to UNLV and being a part of the faculty to move UNLV to Top Tier status.
