Curriculum Vitae

Research Expertise: Obesity prevention, substance use, mental health, health education program evaluation, integrative health (especially in yoga and mindfulness meditation), and family studies (parentification).

Dr. Dai is an assistant professor of Health Education. He received his Ph.D. in Health Promotion and Education with a minor in Counselor Education, and a master's degree in Public and Community Health from the University of Cincinnati. He is also an active Certified Health Education Specialist registered by National Commission of Health Education Credentialing. Prior to joining UNLV, he was a visiting assistant professor at Miami University and an adjunct professor at University of Cincinnati. Before coming to the United States, he was an elementary school teacher where he taught PE classes, a sports team coach, a school psychologist, and a military mental health counselor in Taiwan. His research focuses on examining the association between family factors and risky behaviors. He is also interested in applying integrative health approach (especially in yoga and meditation) to promote healthy weight, mental health, and substance abuse prevention for our community members.
