Research Expertise: International comparative studies, instructional processes/learning, teacher education - learning and development, program evaluation, science education

Emily Lin received her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education-University of Toronto, Canada. Since joining UNLV, her professional and scholarly agenda has focused on teacher education reform with a concentration on international studies and comparative teaching and learning in mathematics and science education. She has been an evaluator for National Science Foundation grants and conducted analyses of cross-national international data. Her focus on teacher education reform extends beyond the United States to Canada, Australia, Asia and Europe and her work has been recognized by distinguished research organizations across the nation. Some of her articles appear in Asia-Pacific Journal of Teacher Education, Educational Researcher, Educational Research Review, Evaluation and Research in Education, The Canadian Journal of Environmental Education, International Journal of Teacher Leadership, and International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education. She served as a co-editor for the Journal of Teacher Education from 2008-11. She is the Past President of the Nevada Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and served as the national committee Chair of the American Education Research Association (AERA)'s Exemplary Research in Teaching and Teacher Education Award which recognizes the significant contribution to teaching and teacher education scholarship. She is the Past Director of Teacher Education for the College of Education and is the current Chair for the Department of Teaching and Learning at UNLV.
